Spider Application For Android
Spiders are arthropods, or insects with a hard exoskeleton. They can be found on all continents. Most species are carnivorous, feeding on prey such as flies. However, there are some that feed on birds and other mammals.
Most spiders live in colonies. Some, like the Anelosimus eximius, form large groups and can contain as many as fifty thousand individuals. Another species, the Portia, shows intelligence in its choice of tactic. It combines a variety of tactics, ranging from precarious tolerating to cooperative hunting.
Spiders use vibrations to sense the presence of prey. They also have a complex respiratory system. The body is filled with fluids which help them to digest the prey. This includes a digestive enzyme that breaks down the prey's internal tissues. As a result, the spider's chelicerae masticate the prey.
Spiders also have a hard cuticle. The cuticle is made of protein and covered with a thin wax layer. These layers provide internal attachment points for the muscles, as well as a surface that allows moisture to be maintained.
The spider's heart is in the midline of the body and beats through the dorsal cuticle. Blood vessels from the heart then flow into the body space and bathe the tissues in blood.
Spiders have eight legs and a pair of pedipalps. A few spiders, such as the jumping spider, have six eyes. Their chelicerae are powerful, allowing them to digest whole prey.
The female spider cares for her young. She may carry them around with her, or she may lay them in a silk egg case.
